The message of the Afghanistan Freedom and Equality Movement regarding the position of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
14 Feb 2023
In the name of Allah
Recently, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has discussed with the World Council of Islamic Jurisprudence in order to unite religious scholars and launch a campaign against the decision of the acting government of Afghanistan to ban women from education, to explain the true order of Islam which emphasizes on providing education for girls.
Mr. Hossein Ebrahim Taha has said that The decision of the Islamic Emirate about banning women from education٫ including universities, under the pretext that it is in conflict with Sharia, is one of the challenges that must be addressed.
Mr. Ebrahim Taha has emphasized that the issue of Afghanistan is the priority of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the World Forum of Islamic Jurisprudence.
The Afghanistan Freedom and Equality Movement welcomes the timely entry of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the World Islamic Jurisprudence Forum into the education crisis of Afghan women and asks these two large and reliable Islamic institutions to convey and explain the true perspective of Islamic Sharia on the issue of women’s education to the leaders of the Taliban, and do not allow the credibility and dignity of Islam to be damaged by the arbitrary, petrified and strict rescript of the Taliban on the one hand, and on the other hand, under the pretext of contrasting the Islamic Sharia, Afghan women should not remain deprived of education and their human and Islamic rights should not be trampled by political desires and purposes.
If the Taliban consider themselves to be Muslims, they should listen to the fatwas of major Islamic authorities and centers and especially act according to the recommendations of these two important Islamic centers.
If the scholars of these two Islamic organizations do not consider women’s education, work and other social activities in contrast with Islamic Sharia, the Taliban never has the right to prohibit women from education, work and social activities, and the decree prohibiting women’s education has no religious legitimacy.
Therefore, Afghan women are not obliged to comply with the non-Sharia and extra-legal orders of the Taliban.
Peace be upon the one who follows the guidance.
